Bugs abound!

Right now i'm feelin like my little house has an assortment of species living in it. Due to the heat and my little compost bucket under the sink or whatever little juicy tidbit i leave in the sink, i have ants and ants and ants abound, as well as a new addition of buzzing lil fruit flies. these drive me crazy, but i remind myself that they're better than cockroaches! besides that i have many spiders in my place. i'm not good at telling the species, so i'm assuming none of them are crazy poisonous and they've been kind enough not to bite me in my sleep. i heard that spiders were good luck, so i appreciate their presence most of the time (plus i like some of the webs they leave). i've had a very large earthworm show up on my floor mysteriously once, as well as a giant slug. my favorite visitors are the hummingbirds that fly up close to my window to suck the sugar water i left for them. outside my house are two very big rambunxious red squirels that run up and down the huge tree. oh, and there's a dragonfly(ies) that likes to skim the pool back and forth and round and round all day. i like the diversity of species in my immediate surroundings, even if they bug me (pun intended) some times. it reminds me that i co-exist on this planet with other lively beings.
